The flaming inferno's insatiable appetite
Feeds on the man gone astray.
Writhing, screaming, hands flailing in the air,
Twitching bodies become its prey.
The calamitous fall into this abyss,
A result of his worldly efforts gone amiss.
His oppression cloaks him in an enveloping darkness,
His pride crushed under the weight of his fall.
A dusty countenance, snared and imprisoned
By the transgressions he so wantonly showed-off.
The neglected sunnah, the unread Quran,
The lies, the broken promises and the betrayed trust,
All become evidence manifest.
Sins that were dredged in beguiling gold
Now begin to unravel and unfold:
Debt, a stifling noose,
Greed, a reviling lover,
Anger, a blistering of faith,
Desire unveiled as fire.
Hell claims the mighty and the haughty,
Paradise snuggles the weak and the poor.
The Fire His punishment, the Garden His mercy
So be wary of what you strive for.
